Anyone involved with horses will have had, or known someone who has had a bad experience buying a horse or pony. High levels of emotion are often involved in the decision making and sadly, in some circumstances, added pressure from the vendor turns the whole situation into one of elevated stress.
It also became apparent to me that a significant proportion of the horses / ponies for sale on the numerous social media platforms were showing varying degrees of lameness on their sales videos. Quite often these lamenesses are bilateral and subtle and therefore are more challenging to detect. “Is it Sound” offers a unique service for those looking to buy a horse or pony.
How It WorksBy Submitting a video* of the horse or pony of interest and paying the associated fee, the horse / pony will be assessed by an Equine Vet with over 25 years experience in Equine practice.
The assessment is completely confidential and totally objective meaning there is no conflict of interest which can occur in some circumstances.
Once the video is received (provided it is of suitable quality*), it is assessed and a report will be sent confirming whether the horse / pony is sound and worth a viewing.
Send us your videoThe "Is It Sound" assessment is NOT a guarantee that the horse / pony will pass a 5 stage pre purchase examination nor will it provide a diagnosis for a lameness if present. The assessment is purely a guide on whether the horse/pony is sound on the video and therefore worth viewing.
The service aims to save you TIME and MONEY as well as helping you avoid potentially stressful situations where the odd vendor uses intimidation and/or pressure tactics.
